EnAbling a Model-driven deep understAnding of the roLe of gender Towards a Holistic solution against Extremism and radicalization Activities
AMALTHEA at a glance
AMALTHEA advances understanding of how gender dynamics shape radicalisation and violent extremism. The project addresses the lack of gender-sensitive data and analysis in preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE), promoting a feminist and intersectional perspective in research and practice. By examining how unequal socialisation and identity factors influence radicalisation, AMALTHEA aims to build lasting security through knowledge and innovation. The project delivers impact in three key areas: (i) generating and disseminating gender-aware knowledge for practitioners; (ii) modelling and sharing data to strengthen collaboration and understanding; and (iii) creating tailor-made tools that empower law enforcement, civil society, and educators to design more effective, inclusive, and sustainable counter-extremism strategies.
Objectives
Objective 1
Create knowledge for LEAs, CSOs, social support professionals,
teachers and other P/CVE practitioners.
Objective 2
Facilitate knowledge management and information sharing among all stakeholders

Objective 3
Deliver innovative & tailor-made tools that will build capacities for LEAs & CSOs
in gender responsive identification, prevention and mitigation of VE.
Objective 4
Validate, assess and ensure openness and replicability of results.
Objective 5
Shift the VE & CVE ecosystem at EU level to a comprehensive approach, based on
gender-specific research and innovative gender-sensitive solutions, promoting
women’s and girls’ leadership and peaceful coexistence and the active
